“Lucky For Some, Thirteen” is the tile of the second novel that I am working on. As mentioned earlier, the basic platform came out of the 50,000 + words that I did during NaNoWriMo 2010. You might know by now that my debut novel, It Can’t Be You, which was published in November 2010 came out of my debut effort in NaNoWriMo in November 2009.

It is a fast paced thriller set in my hometown of Bangalore. I recently passed the 66,000 word mark. In keeping with it’s genre, I hope to write another 15,000 to 20,000 words to complete the book.

The biggest challenges I currently face are:

  1. Adding on the bits and bobs that I have keyed in, whenever thoughts came in to my mind, to the original working manuscript. This calls for some skill in being readily able to identify where this part would fit in most appropriately. I find this quite tedious and tough.
  2. I enjoy the second challenge which is to constantly check and re-check on facts and figures mentioned in the story for possible anomalies or factual errors.
  3. A major shift in the make up of an important character has made me to considerable re-work. I ask myself whether it has been worth it. I think the answer is that it has. There will now be far more substance to this key character.

I look forward to sharing more as the novel takes shape.
