Take pleasure in pointing you to some good tips on improving your writing . Today’s comes from Janice Hardy’s blog The Other Side of the Story. She writes of a tendency to repeat ourselves. I must say that, although inadvertently I am sure, we often underestimate the intelligence of our readers by stressing the obvious.

Sometimes we describe a scene in far too much detail. Sometimes we wander away from the central point as we over-describe a situation or a person.

The challenge for most of us is to be concise where required. As is well-known, it is extremely difficult to be concise and relatively easy to ramble on and on. I hope I am not guilty of that just now!
